FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - A man was critically injured after being stabbed four times in downtown Fort Worth. The incident happened at about 2:15 a.m. on Tuesday morning near the corner of 6th Street and Houston Street.

According to police, the man had just left a bar in the downtown area and asked two homeless people where he would be able to find an after-hours bar. Those two homeless individuals asked the man for some money, and he handed each of them a dollar bill.

But when the homeless people saw the man’s wad of cash, police said, they decided that they wanted more. A fight followed and, during that scuffle, the victim was stabbed four times in the chest. He was transported to the hospital in critical condition with a punctured lung and a punctured liver. Authorities do not know if he will survive.

Part of the incident was caught on video by a nearby bar’s surveillance camera. Police know the suspect and are still searching for him, but have not released any identifying information. The victim’s identity has also not been released.
